Failure Symptoms

Visible hydraulic fluid leaks around the boom cylinder rod are the most common initial symptom of seal failure. If not addressed, these leaks will worsen, leading to a gradual loss of hydraulic pressure and lifting capacity. Continued operation with leaking seals can lead to internal cylinder damage and potential system contamination.

Installation Tip

Carefully inspect the cylinder rod for any scoring or damage before installing new seals, as imperfections can quickly damage the new seals. Ensure all old seal material is completely removed from the cylinder grooves.
