Failure Symptoms

The first indication of a failing water pump is often a coolant leak from the weep hole or a high-temperature warning light on the dash. If left unaddressed, the impeller can fail, leading to a complete loss of coolant circulation and rapid engine overheating. Prolonged overheating can cause severe engine damage, including warped cylinder heads and blown head gaskets.

Installation Tip

Always clean the engine block mounting surface thoroughly to ensure a proper seal with the new gasket. Do not reuse the old mounting bolts, as they may be stretched or corroded.
