Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A clogged or failing oil filter may initially present as a slightly higher oil pressure reading or a faint engine knocking sound. If left unaddressed, the filter's bypass valve will open, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate, leading to rapid wear of bearings, camshafts, and piston rings.

Installation Tip

Always lubricate the rubber gasket with clean engine oil before installation to ensure a proper seal and prevent tearing. Do not overtighten the filter, as this can damage the gasket or strip the threads on the filter housing.

Service Note

When replacing the oil filter, it is crucial to also change the engine oil and inspect the oil pan for any metal debris.
