Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A clogged air filter will initially cause a gradual decrease in engine performance and potentially lead to increased fuel usage. As the restriction worsens, the engine may struggle to accelerate or maintain power under load, and black smoke might appear from the exhaust. If left unreplaced, the engine can suffer from incomplete combustion and accelerated internal wear.

Installation Tip

Before installing the new filter, thoroughly clean the inside of the air cleaner housing to prevent any residual dirt from entering the engine. Ensure the filter is seated correctly and the cover is securely fastened to maintain a proper seal.
