Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A dirty or clogged air filter element will initially cause a reduction in engine power and potentially increase fuel consumption. If not replaced, the engine will struggle to draw sufficient air, leading to incomplete combustion and increased soot buildup. This can result in premature wear on internal engine components and potential overheating.

Installation Tip

Before installing the new air filter, ensure the inside of the air cleaner housing is completely clean and free of any debris. Do not operate the equipment with the air cleaner housing cover removed or improperly sealed.

Inspect the air intake piping for cracks or leaks, and clean the air cleaner housing thoroughly before installing the new filter element.
