Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A clogged air filter element will initially cause a noticeable reduction in engine power and may lead to increased black smoke. If not replaced, the engine will continue to lose performance, fuel efficiency will decline, and the risk of abrasive wear on critical internal engine parts increases. Severe restriction can eventually lead to engine misfires and reduced operational capability.

Installation Tip

Before installing the new element, thoroughly clean the air cleaner housing and ensure the sealing surfaces are free of debris. Do not operate the engine without the air filter element installed.
