Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A clogged oil filter can initially manifest as a slight drop in oil pressure or a faint engine knocking sound. If left unaddressed, the filter's bypass valve may open, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate, leading to accelerated internal engine wear. This can ultimately result in reduced engine performance and a shortened lifespan.

Installation Tip

Always lubricate the rubber gasket on the new filter with clean engine oil before installation to ensure a proper seal. Do not reuse the old filter gasket.

Service Note

When replacing the oil filter, it is essential to also change the engine oil and inspect the oil drain plug and its washer.
