Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

An early indicator of a failing oil filter might be a slightly elevated oil temperature or a faint knocking sound from the engine. If left unaddressed, the filter will become saturated, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate, leading to increased internal engine wear. The most severe consequence is accelerated damage to critical engine bearings and other moving parts.

Installation Tip

Ensure the engine block's filter mounting surface is clean and free of old gasket residue before installing the new element. Do not overtighten the filter element, as this can damage the seal or the filter housing.

Service Note

When replacing the oil filter element, it is recommended to also inspect the engine oil for signs of contamination or breakdown and consider an oil change.
