23670438 Shock Absorber — Volvo FH12 FH16

This is a Shock Absorber designed to dampen and control spring oscillations within the suspension system of Volvo trucks, ensuring a stable and comfortable ride. Manufactured to meet stringent OEM quality and performance specifications, it provides superior damping force and durability over a worn or leaking shock absorber. Operators may notice excessive bouncing after hitting bumps, a tendency for the vehicle to 'porpoise', or uneven tire wear when this component begins to fail.

Installation & Application Notes

Torque all suspension fasteners to specification — under-torque causes wear, over-torque causes fatigue cracking. Replace bushings in pairs. Grease all zerks after fitting. Check alignment after suspension work.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

Excessive bouncing or rocking motion after encountering bumps is an early sign of shock absorber failure. If ignored, this can lead to a 'porpoising' effect on the road and accelerated wear on tires and other suspension components. Continued operation with faulty shocks compromises vehicle stability and braking effectiveness.

Installation Tip

Ensure the shock absorber's mounting bushings are properly aligned before tightening fasteners to prevent premature wear. Never install a shock absorber without its dust boot and bump stop, if applicable.

Service Note

Inspect the suspension springs, bushings, and mounting hardware for wear or damage when replacing the shock absorber.
