Failure Symptoms

This can result in catastrophic engine failure.

Installation Tip

Ensure the engine block's filter mounting surface is clean and free of old gasket material before installing the new filter. Hand-tighten the filter until the gasket makes contact, then tighten an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn as specified by the filter manufacturer.
