Failure Symptoms

If left unaddressed, the filter's bypass valve may open, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate, leading to increased engine noise and wear. Ultimately, this can result in severe internal engine damage due to abrasive contaminants.

Installation Tip

Lubricate the rubber gasket on the new oil filter with clean engine oil before installation to ensure a proper seal. Do not overtighten the filter; hand-tighten plus a quarter turn is usually sufficient.
