Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

Installation Tip

Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces of the filter housing and ensure all old gasket material is removed before installing new seals. Incorrectly seated or damaged seals will not prevent leaks and may require re-servicing.

Always inspect the filter element itself for damage or excessive clogging when servicing the filter housing with a repair kit.
