Failure Symptoms

Initial signs of a failing fuel feed pump include a noticeable loss of engine power, especially under load, and difficulty starting. If ignored, the engine may begin to stall intermittently or run very rough, eventually leading to an inability to start the engine.

Installation Tip

Ensure the fuel tank is at least half full to prevent the pump from running dry during initial priming. Do not overtighten the mounting bolts, as this can damage the pump housing.

Always inspect fuel lines for cracks or leaks and replace the fuel filter when replacing the fuel feed pump.
