Failure Symptoms

Initial signs of a failing air filter include a gradual decrease in engine power and noticeable increases in fuel consumption. If ignored, the engine may begin to run roughly, hesitate under load, or produce excessive black smoke. Continued operation with a severely restricted filter can lead to premature engine wear and reduced efficiency.

Installation Tip

Ensure the air filter housing is completely clean before installing the new element to guarantee a proper seal. Do not operate the equipment with the air filter housing cover unsecured, as this will allow dirt ingress.
