Failure Symptoms

Initial symptoms of a failing centershift cylinder group might include a slight stiffness when articulating the machine or minor hydraulic fluid seepage. As the condition worsens, steering will become noticeably less responsive, and the machine may exhibit unwanted drifting. If left unaddressed, the articulation system could become completely unresponsive, severely limiting the machine's maneuverability and operational capability.

Installation Tip

Before installing, ensure the hydraulic system is properly bled of air and that the cylinder rod is clean and free of any debris to protect the seals. Misalignment during installation can cause binding and premature wear on the cylinder rod and seals.

Service Note

Inspect and replace the hydraulic fluid and filter, and check the articulation linkage and pins for wear or damage when replacing the centershift cylinder group.
