Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A dirty air filter will first manifest as a gradual reduction in engine power and responsiveness. The worst consequence is severe internal engine damage from ingested contaminants, significantly shortening its lifespan.

Installation Tip

Before installing the new element, carefully clean the inside of the air cleaner housing to remove any accumulated dust or debris. Ensure the new filter seats properly and creates a complete seal to prevent unfiltered air bypass.

Inspect the intake manifold and turbocharger (if equipped) for any signs of oil or soot buildup during air filter replacement.
