Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

Initial signs of a failing filter element include a gradual decrease in engine performance and potentially a rise in oil pressure warning light illumination. If ignored, the element can become completely blocked, leading to oil bypass and accelerated internal engine wear. Continued operation with a compromised element risks severe damage to engine bearings and crankshaft.

Installation Tip

Ensure the new element's O-rings are properly lubricated with clean engine oil before installation to prevent tearing. Do not overtighten the filter housing, as this can damage the seal or housing threads.
