Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A clogged oil filter can initially lead to a slight increase in oil pressure or a gradual darkening of the engine oil. If the filter's bypass valve opens, unfiltered oil will circulate, leading to increased wear on bearings, camshafts, and other internal engine components. This can result in reduced engine performance and a shortened engine lifespan.

Installation Tip

Ensure the new filter's gasket is clean and lightly lubricated with fresh engine oil before installation to achieve a proper seal. Avoid overtightening, which can damage the gasket or the filter housing.

Service Note

When replacing the oil filter, it is highly recommended to also change the engine oil and inspect the oil pan and drain plug for any signs of damage or leaks.
