This is a Water Separator Element designed to remove water and contaminants from fuel before it reaches the engine's injection system. It protects critical fuel system components from corrosion and wear caused by water in the fuel. A clogged or damaged element will restrict fuel flow, leading to reduced engine power and potential stalling.

Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

Reduced engine performance, hesitation during acceleration, or visible water in the fuel bowl are early indicators of a failing water separator element. If left unaddressed, the engine may begin to run rough, misfire, or eventually stall due to insufficient fuel flow. Continued operation can lead to severe damage to fuel injectors and the injection pump.

Installation Tip

Ensure the fuel shut-off valve is closed before removing the old element to prevent fuel spillage. Do not overtighten the new element, as this can damage the seal or housing.
