Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A dirty air filter element will first manifest as a gradual loss of engine power, especially under load. If ignored, the engine may start to consume more fuel as it struggles to draw sufficient air. Eventually, excessive soot buildup can occur, potentially leading to increased internal engine wear.

Installation Tip

Ensure the filter housing is completely clean before installing the new element to prevent debris from bypassing the filter. Do not overtighten the housing cover, as this can distort the seal and cause leaks.
