Maximizing Uptime on Your PC200
Komatsu excavators are workhorses, but they punish their hydraulics. Here is a simplified maintenance schedule based on 70 years of experience.
Daily Checks (Start of Shift)
- Grease Points: Bucket pins and boom arm.
- Track Tension: Sag should be 300-350mm. Too tight = gearbox wear. Too loose = thrown track.
500-Hour Service
This is the big one. Change:
- Engine Oil & Filter
- Fuel Pre-filter (Water Separator)
- Pilot Filter: Often ignored, but a clogged pilot filter causes "jery" controls.
Undercarriage Wear
Measure your link pitch. If the bushings are worn externally, turn them. If worn internally, replace the chain. Running on worn sprockets destroys new chains in weeks.
