Failure Symptoms

A failing wheel hub seal typically first manifests as a noticeable grease leak around the wheel hub or a grinding noise originating from the wheel assembly. If ignored, contaminants will enter the hub, rapidly degrading the wheel bearings and potentially causing them to seize. The ultimate consequence is the risk of wheel detachment or severe axle damage.

Installation Tip

Carefully clean the hub bore and the shaft where the seal will be pressed to prevent damage to the seal lip during installation. Avoid using excessive force or hammering directly on the seal, which can deform it and compromise its sealing ability.
