Failure Symptoms

The most common initial symptom is the illumination of the 'Check Engine' light or other relevant dashboard warning indicators. The engine may also exhibit erratic idling, reduced power, or increased fuel consumption. If the sensor failure is critical, it can lead to the engine entering a limp-home mode or shutting down unexpectedly.

Installation Tip

Ensure the electrical connector is clean and free from corrosion before plugging in the new sensor. Do not use excessive force when tightening the sensor, especially if it has a sealing washer.

Service Note

After replacing the sensor, clear any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the engine control module (ECM) and perform a test drive to ensure proper system operation.
