Failure Symptoms

The most common symptom is a slow or hesitant engine crank, often accompanied by a clicking sound from the solenoid. If ignored, the starter may eventually fail to engage the flywheel at all, leaving the vehicle immobile. Continued attempts to start with a failing starter can also drain the battery completely.

Installation Tip

Always disconnect the battery before removing or installing the starter motor to prevent electrical shorts. Ensure the starter mounting bolts are torqued correctly to prevent vibration damage to the flywheel housing.
