Failure Symptoms

The initial symptom of a failing boom cylinder seal kit is usually external hydraulic fluid leakage around the cylinder. If left unaddressed, this leakage will increase, resulting in a loss of lifting power and the boom slowly drifting downwards. Continued operation with compromised seals can lead to internal cylinder damage and contamination of the hydraulic fluid.

Installation Tip

Before installing, carefully inspect the cylinder rod for any nicks, scratches, or wear that could damage the new seals. Use a suitable lubricant on all seals and the cylinder bore to ease installation and prevent damage.
