Failure Symptoms

Visible hydraulic fluid leaks around the base or rod of the boom cylinder are the first sign of seal failure. If left unaddressed, the leaks will worsen, leading to a gradual loss of hydraulic pressure and slower, less responsive boom operation. Continued operation with severely degraded seals can result in significant hydraulic system contamination and potential damage to the cylinder rod.

Thoroughly clean the cylinder bore and rod before installing the new seals to prevent damage and ensure a proper seal. Do not use sharp tools to pry the seals into place, as this can easily nick or cut the sealing lip.
