Failure Symptoms

The first indication of a failing water pump may be visible coolant leaks around the pump pulley or a whining noise from the front of the engine. If left unaddressed, the pump's internal bearing can fail, leading to a loss of coolant circulation and rapid engine overheating. Severe overheating can cause significant engine damage, including warped cylinder heads or blown head gaskets.

Installation Tip

Ensure the engine block surface is clean and free of old gasket material before installing the new pump. Do not overtighten the mounting bolts, as this can warp the pump housing.

Service Note

It is strongly recommended to replace the serpentine belt and thermostat when replacing the water pump.
