Failure Symptoms

A clogged oil filter will initially lead to a reduction in oil flow and pressure, potentially causing the oil pressure warning light to illuminate. If ignored, the engine may start to run hotter due to inadequate lubrication, and internal components will experience increased friction and wear. The long-term consequence is accelerated engine degradation and potential mechanical failure.

Installation Tip

Always lubricate the rubber gasket with clean engine oil before installation to ensure a proper seal and prevent leaks. Hand-tighten the filter until the gasket contacts the mounting surface, then tighten an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn.

Service Note

When replacing the oil filter, always perform an oil change and inspect the drain plug and gasket for wear.
