Failure Symptoms

The air compressor may run continuously without reaching cut-out pressure, or you might hear air hissing from the compressor head when the engine is off. If the NRV fails to seal, the air system will struggle to maintain pressure, impacting braking performance. Continued operation with a leaking NRV can lead to premature wear of the compressor.

Installation Tip

Ensure the valve seat area on the compressor head is clean and free from any old gasket material or debris before installing the new valve. Avoid overtightening the valve assembly, as this can strip the threads or damage the valve components.

Inspect the air dryer and air tanks for moisture and sediment when replacing the NRV kit.
