Failure Symptoms

A common symptom of a failing fan clutch is the cooling fan not spinning at the appropriate speed relative to engine temperature. This can manifest as the fan running at maximum speed constantly or failing to engage when the engine is hot, leading to overheating. If left unaddressed, a malfunctioning fan clutch can cause sustained high engine temperatures, risking damage to the cylinder head and other critical engine components.

Installation Tip

Ensure the fan mounting surface on the water pump pulley is clean and free of debris before installation. Do not use excessive force when tightening the clutch mounting bolts, as this can damage the threads.
