Failure Symptoms

A malfunctioning radiator fan will typically lead to elevated engine temperatures, especially noticeable during idling or slow traffic. If the fan is not operating, the engine may start to overheat, indicated by the temperature gauge climbing. Continued operation without adequate cooling can cause severe damage to the engine, including warped cylinder heads and blown head gaskets.

Installation Tip

Ensure the fan mounting surface on the water pump or fan hub is clean and free of debris before installing the new fan. Do not overtighten the fan mounting bolts, as this can strip the threads or damage the fan assembly.
