Failure Symptoms

The initial symptom of a worn clutch plate is often a feeling of slippage, where engine RPMs increase but machine speed does not proportionally, especially when engaging or under load. If ignored, the friction material can wear away completely, leading to a complete loss of drive or severe transmission overheating and internal damage. The main equipment risk is the inability to power the machine, potentially leaving it immobile.

Installation Tip

Ensure all clutch plates and steels in the pack are soaked in fresh, clean transmission oil for at least 30 minutes before assembly. Verify that the clutch pack thickness is within the manufacturer's specifications after installation.
