Failure Symptoms

A clogged hydraulic filter may initially cause a slight increase in hydraulic fluid temperature or a minor reduction in system responsiveness. If left unreplaced, the filter's bypass valve will open, allowing unfiltered fluid to circulate, leading to accelerated wear on internal components. The ultimate consequence is potential damage to the hydraulic pump and other critical parts due to abrasive contamination.

Installation Tip

Ensure the filter housing and sealing surfaces are clean before installing new filters to guarantee a proper seal. Do not overtighten the filter element, as this can damage the threads or gasket.

Service Note

Inspect the hydraulic fluid for signs of contamination or degradation when replacing hydraulic filters.
