Failure Symptoms

Early indications of a failing fuel water separator include intermittent engine hesitation or a slight loss of power. As the blockage worsens, the engine may begin to sputter, especially under load, and could eventually stall. If not replaced, severe contamination can reach the fuel injection pump and injectors, leading to costly repairs.

Installation Tip

Always drain the fuel from the separator bowl before attempting removal to minimize spillage. Ensure the new O-ring seal is properly seated and lubricated before tightening the bowl to prevent leaks.
