183-2823-2w-2605 Fuel Priming Pump — Cat 320B

This is a fuel priming pump, essential for manually supplying fuel to the injection system during maintenance or after the fuel tank has run dry. Constructed from durable materials, it ensures a reliable seal and smooth operation, unlike a worn pump that may leak or fail to build pressure. Operators will experience difficulty starting the engine, or the engine may stall shortly after starting, if this pump is not functioning correctly.

Installation & Application Notes

Use clean, filtered fuel — fuel injection components have micron-level tolerances. Prime fuel system before cranking to avoid dry-start damage. Replace fuel filter whenever servicing injection components. Calibrate injectors after replacement if equipment has ECU.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The primary symptom is the inability to start the engine or the engine stalling shortly after starting due to a lack of fuel. If the pump develops a leak, fuel may drip from the pump housing or connections. Continued use of a faulty pump can lead to air being drawn into the injection system, potentially causing damage to the injection pump.

Installation Tip

Ensure all air is purged from the fuel lines after installation by pumping until a firm resistance is felt and no air bubbles are visible. Do not force the pump handle if it feels excessively stiff, as this may indicate an obstruction or improper installation.

Service Note

Inspect the fuel filters and fuel lines for any signs of clogging or damage when replacing the fuel priming pump.
