Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A dirty or damaged air filter element will first manifest as a reduction in engine power and responsiveness. The engine may also start to consume more fuel and produce darker exhaust smoke. Continued use can lead to increased wear on engine components due to abrasive particles entering the combustion chamber.

Installation Tip

Before installing, ensure the inside of the air cleaner housing is clean and free from any debris that could bypass the new filter. Make sure the new element seats properly and creates a good seal all around.

Service Note

Check the intake piping for any signs of leaks or damage, and inspect the turbocharger impeller for foreign object damage when replacing the air filter element.
