Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A clogged hydraulic filter will first manifest as slower or less responsive hydraulic functions. If left unaddressed, it can lead to increased system temperature and accelerated wear on pumps and valves. Continued operation with a blocked filter can cause hydraulic system failure.

Installation Tip

Ensure the filter mounting surface is clean and free of old gasket material before installing the new element. Hand-tighten the filter, then turn an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn as specified by the manufacturer.

Inspect the hydraulic fluid for signs of contamination or degradation, and check the hydraulic pump and cylinders for any unusual noises or leaks.
