Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A dirty air filter element will first manifest as a gradual decrease in engine power and a slight increase in fuel consumption. Continued operation with a severely clogged filter can cause premature wear on internal engine parts due to insufficient airflow.

Installation Tip

Ensure the filter housing is completely clean before installing the new element to prevent any bypass of contaminants. Do not overtighten the housing cover, as this can distort the seal and compromise filtration.
