Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A clogged secondary filter will first manifest as a gradual decrease in engine power and responsiveness. If left unaddressed, the engine may begin to run rough, consume more fuel, and produce excessive exhaust smoke. Continued operation with a severely restricted air supply can lead to premature engine wear and potential internal damage.

Installation Tip

Ensure the air filter housing is completely clean before installing the new element to prevent any debris from compromising the seal. Do not force the element into place, as this could damage the filter media or the housing.

Service Note

Inspect the primary air filter element and the air intake system for leaks or damage when replacing the secondary filter.
