Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A clogged spin-on filter element will initially lead to a gradual reduction in system performance or flow rate. If left unreplaced, the filter's bypass valve may open, allowing unfiltered fluid to circulate, or the element itself could rupture, leading to significant contamination.

Installation Tip

Before installing, lightly lubricate the rubber gasket with clean fluid to ensure a proper seal. Do not overtighten the element; hand-tighten plus a quarter turn is usually sufficient.
