Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

Reduced engine power and noticeable black smoke from the exhaust are the first signs of a restricted air filter. If ignored, the engine will continue to lose performance and consume more fuel as the filter becomes increasingly blocked. Eventually, excessive soot buildup can lead to internal engine damage.

Installation Tip

Ensure the filter housing is completely clean before installing the new element to prevent any bypass of contaminants. Do not overtighten the housing clamps, as this can deform the seal and cause leaks.
