Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

A clogged air filter element will initially cause a noticeable reduction in engine power and may lead to increased black exhaust smoke. If left unaddressed, the engine may start to consume more fuel, and performance will continue to degrade. Severe restriction can lead to engine damage due to insufficient airflow and potential ingestion of contaminants.

Installation Tip

Before installing the new air filter, ensure the air cleaner housing is completely clean inside and out to prevent any debris from being drawn into the engine. Do not operate the equipment with the air filter element removed.

Service Note

When replacing the air filter element, inspect the intake manifold and turbocharger (if equipped) for any signs of oil or soot buildup.
