Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

Initial signs of a failing water separator include intermittent engine sputtering or a slight loss of power. If ignored, water and debris will increasingly enter the fuel injection system, leading to poor combustion and potential component damage. Continued operation with a compromised separator risks severe damage to the fuel pump and injectors.

Installation Tip

Ensure the new O-ring seal is properly lubricated before installation to prevent tearing and ensure a good seal. Do not overtighten the bowl, as this can crack the housing.
