Installation & Application Notes

Never run an engine without a filter — even briefly causes abrasive damage. Pre-fill fuel filters with clean fuel before fitting to reduce prime time. Replace O-rings on filter housings every second service. Record change dates on filter housing.

Failure Symptoms

Reduced engine power and noticeable increase in black smoke from the exhaust are the first signs of a restricted air filter. If ignored, the engine will continue to lose performance, and fuel efficiency will significantly decrease. Continued operation with a severely clogged filter can lead to increased internal engine wear and potential over-fueling issues.

Installation Tip

Ensure the air filter housing is completely clean before installing the new element to prevent dirt ingress. Do not overtighten the housing clamps, as this can distort the seal and compromise filtration.

Service Note

Inspect the pre-cleaner (if equipped) and the entire air intake system for leaks or damage when replacing the air filter element.
