7c-2238-10r-4020 Fuel Injector Nozzle — Cat 3508 3512

This is a fuel injector nozzle, a precision component responsible for atomizing and delivering fuel into the combustion chamber of Caterpillar diesel engines. Manufactured to exact specifications, it ensures optimal fuel spray patterns and precise fuel metering, differing from a worn nozzle that may produce poor atomization or incorrect delivery. Operators may observe rough idling, reduced engine power, increased exhaust emissions, or difficulty starting as signs of a faulty fuel injector nozzle.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

Early symptoms of a failing fuel injector nozzle include rough engine operation, particularly at idle, and a noticeable increase in black smoke from the exhaust. If left unaddressed, fuel delivery can become inconsistent, leading to reduced power and potential engine misfires. Continued operation risks washing lubricating oil from cylinder walls and damaging pistons.

Installation Tip

Ensure the nozzle seat in the cylinder head is perfectly clean and free of carbon deposits before installing the new nozzle. Do not overtighten the nozzle hold-down clamp, as this can distort the nozzle body.

Service Note

Inspect the fuel injection lines for leaks or damage and clean or replace the fuel filter when replacing fuel injector nozzles.
