Failure Symptoms

The first indication of a faulty water pump is often a coolant leak from the weep hole or a noticeable increase in engine operating temperature. If the pump bearing fails, a grinding or whining noise may be heard, and if the impeller is damaged, coolant circulation will be insufficient, leading to overheating. Continued operation without proper cooling can cause severe engine damage.

Installation Tip

Ensure the engine block's water passages are clean and free of rust or scale before installing the new pump. Do not reuse the old gasket; always use a new gasket and apply sealant if recommended by the manufacturer.
