4n-8216 V Belt — Cat 3406 3408

This V-belt is a critical component in the engine's accessory drive system, responsible for powering components like the alternator, water pump, and fan. Manufactured to precise specifications, it offers superior resistance to heat, oil, and wear compared to a damaged belt, ensuring reliable operation of essential engine functions. A worn or broken belt will result in a loss of charging, cooling, or fan function.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The first indication of a worn V-belt is often a squealing noise from the engine, particularly on startup or when accessories are engaged. If the belt begins to fray or crack, you may notice a loss of function in the driven accessories, such as the alternator warning light illuminating or the engine overheating. A broken belt will immediately stop all accessory functions, potentially leading to rapid engine damage.

Installation Tip

Ensure the tensioning pulleys and idler bearings are spinning freely and quietly before installing the new belt. Never use a pry bar or screwdriver to force the belt onto the pulleys, as this can damage the belt's cords.

Service Note

Inspect the condition of the accessory pulleys and tensioner assembly for wear or damage when replacing the V-belt.
