363-9453 Evaporator — Cat

This evaporator is a crucial component of the machine's air conditioning system, responsible for absorbing heat from the cabin air to provide cooling. It is constructed from durable materials and manufactured to strict standards, ensuring efficient heat transfer and longevity over a worn or corroded unit. Operators may notice a lack of cool air, reduced airflow from vents, or a musty smell when this part begins to fail.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The first sign of a failing evaporator is a noticeable reduction in cooling performance, with the air from the vents not feeling as cold. If left unaddressed, the cooling capacity will continue to diminish, potentially leading to a complete loss of AC function. A severely degraded evaporator can also contribute to moisture buildup and mold growth within the system.

Installation Tip

Ensure the AC system is properly evacuated of refrigerant before disconnecting the evaporator to comply with environmental regulations. Carefully inspect all O-ring seals for damage and replace them if necessary.

Service Note

Replace the receiver-drier and expansion valve when replacing the evaporator to ensure the integrity of the air conditioning system.
