353-7439 Main Bearing Kit — Cat Engine C3 3

This main bearing kit provides critical support for the crankshaft within the engine's rotating assembly. It is manufactured to meet stringent OEM quality standards, ensuring superior wear resistance and load-bearing capacity compared to worn or damaged bearings. Symptoms of failure include a noticeable knocking sound from the engine, a significant drop in oil pressure, and potential engine seizure if ignored.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

A distinct knocking or rattling sound originating from the lower engine block is the first indication of main bearing failure. This noise will typically increase with engine RPM and can be accompanied by a drop in oil pressure. Continued operation can lead to severe crankshaft and block damage, potentially resulting in engine seizure.

Installation Tip

Thoroughly clean all bearing surfaces on the crankshaft and in the engine block before installation to prevent premature wear. Ensure bearing caps are correctly oriented and do not force them into place, as this can damage the new bearings.

Service Note

Always inspect the crankshaft journals for any signs of scoring, wear, or out-of-roundness when replacing main bearings.
