3418888 Pushrod-Valve — Cat 140H 160H

This valve pushrod is a vital component in the engine's valvetrain, transferring motion from the camshaft lifter to the rocker arm to open the engine valves. Manufactured to precise dimensions and material strength requirements, it ensures consistent valve timing and operation, unlike a bent or worn pushrod which can cause misfires or poor performance. Operators may notice engine misfires, rough idling, loss of power, or ticking noises from the engine when a pushrod is damaged or incorrectly adjusted.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

A bent or worn pushrod may initially cause intermittent engine misfires or a slight loss of engine power, especially under load. If the pushrod is severely damaged or dislodged, it can lead to a complete loss of valve operation on that cylinder, resulting in significant power loss and rough running. Continued operation with a faulty pushrod can cause further damage to the camshaft, lifters, and rocker arms.

Installation Tip

Ensure the lifter is on the base circle of the camshaft before installing the pushrod to prevent valve spring pressure from interfering. Verify that the pushrod seats correctly in both the lifter and the rocker arm socket.

Service Note

Inspect the camshaft lobes, lifters, and rocker arms for wear or damage when replacing valve pushrods.
